I remember that day as if it was yesterday. I was living in Staten Island, NY at the time, and I had to go to work that morning at Newark Airport in NJ, working for the Port Authory Police Dept., while driving to work that morning via the Gothals bridge I had this erie feeling, and I wasn't sure why.

I remember looking out at the water like I always do while traveling to work and the feeling was so weird. So I get to work and I start at 8:30 am, I went to the kitchen and everyone was standing around looking at the TV, and next thing I knew everyone started running, and loud voices over the intercoms, and all the police are getting in their gear to go to NYC, it was such a horror, I was scared out of my wits, because at first everyone thought that it was an accident, then while I was watching the TV I seen a small figure hit the other tower, and then fire and smoke, then everyone was in shock, and I was in tears ready to go home, knowing my daughter was in Staten Island in school, because I had just dropped her off, and my partner was at home, I was calling every chance I could before all the phone lines went out. Cell phones were out, land line phones were out, it was kaos.

I called my mom in North Carolina to let her know I was ok, and I was trying to get home, but all the bridges, and streets were shut down. I couldn't get out, it was horror, but eventually I got home at 10pm that night, but while traveling on the Staten Island expressway going to my home, it was still an erie feeling, especially when I was the only car on the expressway seemed like and an army truck, that told me this was out of control. I got home and just hugged my family, and thanked GOD for keeping them and myself safe. Then I prayed for all those people in my own way.

God was there that day, to the many that don't understand, he was there. Believe me when I say that. Thousands of peoples lives were lost, but thousands were saved, including mine and yours.
