I am a 17 year old senior in high school and I remember September 11th very well. I take Nursing, so I was in the middle of class when I heard about what happened. We had all just gotten back from the lab and my teacher told us that the president had been attacked and that he was all right. We were all in complete shock. Not knowing any real details we just took it as we had heard it. On the way back to my high school at 11am, I heard all kinds of things from everyone on the bus. By this time I was so worried and anxious as to know what was going on. Instead of going to lunch when I got back to school I went straight to my Economics teacher's classroom. There, I found about 5 kids and my teacher grouped around the television staring in awe at what they were watching. I immediatley joined them and watched over and over the horror that had really went on that morning. The whole day was changed. No one did work, we just talked about the attacks. So many opinions were racing through our school that day and some were frightened and worried for their families who were there and who were on their way there to help. When I got home later that day I turned on the tv and watched everything over and over. My dad had just woke up (he works nights) and hadn't known that anything happened. He was just as shocked as I was when he first saw what was on that tv set. We watched later on, on the tv, that different churches were holding prayer groups in the city and leading many people to the Lord. That was so nice to see. But it's very sad, when the only way for God to get people's attention is through tragedy. The events of 9/11 sure did make me think twice about how much time I really spend with the Lord and how often I ever witness to someone who's lost. So many people died that day without ever knowing Jesus as their Savior and that makes me cry everytime I think about it. My new goal is to witness to as many people as I possibly can, with the help of my Lord.
